Anti-Ragging Committee
Geetai Institute of Management, Bidkin, strictly adheres to the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited within and outside the campus.
The institute is committed to maintaining a ragging-free, safe, and inclusive environment for all students. Any act of ragging is treated as a serious offense and is subject to strict disciplinary action.
Ragging includes any act causing physical or psychological harm, embarrassment, or fear among students
Objectives
- To prohibit, prevent, and eliminate ragging in all forms
- To create a safe and supportive environment for students
- To promote healthy interaction among students
- To ensure strict compliance with UGC regulations
- To take prompt action against offenders
Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitoring and preventing ragging activities on campus
- Conducting awareness programs for students and staff
- Receiving and addressing complaints related to ragging
- Recommending disciplinary action against offenders
- Coordinating with Anti-Ragging Squad for vigilance

Anti-Ragging Squad
An Anti-Ragging Squad is constituted to maintain vigilance across campus areas such as classrooms, corridors, canteen, and other student gathering places. The squad works under the supervision of the Anti-Ragging Committee.
What Constitutes Ragging
Ragging includes, but is not limited to:
- Physical or verbal abuse
- Teasing, bullying, or harassment
- Forcing students to perform acts against their will
- Psychological intimidation or humiliation
- Any act causing fear, embarrassment, or harm
(as defined under UGC regulations)
Punishments for Ragging
Students found guilty of ragging may face:
- Suspension from classes
- Withholding scholarships or benefits
- Debarment from examinations
- Expulsion from hostel or institution
- Cancellation of admission
(as per UGC norms)

- Display of anti-ragging notices on campus
- Submission of Anti-Ragging Undertaking by students & parents
- Awareness programs and orientation sessions
- Continuous monitoring and surveillance
- Strict disciplinary mechanism
