How to Apply for RTI?
Citizens seeking information under the RTI Act can follow these steps:
- Prepare the RTI Application: Write a formal request mentioning the specific information required. The application should be addressed to the Public Information Officer (PIO) of the institute.
- Mode of Submission: The RTI application can be submitted in person at the institute’s administrative office or sent via postal mail.
- Fee Payment: The RTI Act requires an application fee, which can be paid through prescribed modes such as demand draft, postal order, or any other method as per government norms.
- Response Time: The PIO will respond within 30 days from the date of receipt of the application. If the applicant is not satisfied with the response, they can appeal to the Appellate Authority.
